Uses of Cement in Modern Days

Our surroundings have changed dramatically due to technological breakthrough. Earlier, mud and hay were used to build houses, later with the advent of brick, the mud houses were replaced by the brick houses. The most important material used for giving strength and support to the brick houses is concrete. It was also developed with the passage of time. The most important component that is used for the preparation of concrete is cement. Cement is one of the most widely used component in the construction process.
The strong cement in Silchar is one of the best kind of cement that is produced in the country. This is mainly of 2 kinds PPC or the Portland Pozzolana and OPC or the Ordinary Portland Product. Among these two, OPC is most widely used and is environmentally friendly.
 
Uses of Cement:
It has various applications. Some of the uses are as follows:
  • It is used basically for preparing concrete that is used in the construction of buildings.
  • The most significant and basic use of this in recent times is in the construction of engineering structures such as tunnels, reservoirs, bridges dams etc.
  • It is used for making waterproof or decorating items
  • It is used for the preparation of precast pipes, fencing posts etc.
  • It is also used for guarding a structure against water.
  • It is also used in the construction of roads.
There are many more things that are prepared with the help of it.
How should cement store?
Cement must be protected efficiently fromdampsurfaces,moisture,and rainwater. The cement bags must be stored properly in a place which is moisture free and is fully covered. Itmust not be kept on the dirty floor as the cement may get contaminated and which might destroy the actual texture of the cement. The cement which is being exposed must be carefully stored in proper airtight bags made of plasticthat will help to keep the cement moisture free.
 
People use their hard earned money to build a building. It required a heavy amount of capital nowadays. Thus it can be said that since cement is one of the most important components used in the construction. Thus cement of the finest quality must always be used during the construction process so that the structure can withstand any kind of natural calamity and it will be unable to break the structure.
